Barbarian Class Guide Diablo 3

Diablo 3 will be released in 15th may, but since Blizzard gave away lots of beta keys, it's time for a Diablo 3 barbarian class guide. For the moment this guide applies only in the low level content revealed in beta, but we will modify the post once the game comes out. Anyway, the main ideas of the barbarian class guide will not change, because a barbarian will remain a barbarian even if it's level 3 or level 40.  As your level will increase, you will make a certain build on your barbarian and since there are lots and lots of available builds for barbarians, we will stick to the main ideas of what a barbarian means and represents in Diablo 3.

The barbarian class, as the name says it, is the class specialized in non-ranged attacks. This is the class that actually gives a lot of damage but in the same has to carry all the battles body-to-body, because it has low range attacks. This isn't necessarily a problem for the barbarian, because this class is highly resistant and can take more damage than any other class. Depending on the build you choose for your barbarian, in late game your character will be either a dd specialized in close range attacks, either a tank. Of course, there are many builds but we're discussing now only the main ideas of what the barbarian class means.

As any other class, the barbarian class has a fundamental resource. This resource in barbarian's case is called fury, and it is represented in the bottom right side of the screen, in a globe. This fury builds up as you hit any available target, but also decreases when you're too peaceful and don't break/smash anything. This resource will be needed in order to use certain powerful skills, but you can also kill without it. We can say that this resource makes your farm easier.

What gear should I choose for my barbarian character?

Perhaps many people have this dilemma because they don't really know what items are good for their character. Since barbarian has to fight all the time in a close range near the target, that means he will also take a lot of damage. In my opinion, at least for farming, you should choose items with special abilities that restores HP as you hit. I've seen that there are items that give you a certain health point back after each hit, but there are also items that restore a certain percent % of hp after you hit your target.

In case you're wondering why this thing helps, well the answer is simple. You won't be able to use all the time a potion to recover your hp and especially when you're playing solo and you're fighting many strong mobs (maybe even a raid-boss then) you will find it useful. It will recover you a lot of your hp because the lack of mobs is not a problem, at least not in Diablo 3. Since you'll aoe, after 2-3 aoes you`ll hp will be recovered in a considerable amount so you will not have any problem at farming.

About Barbarian in PVP, there isn't too much to say yet, because the beta is still going on and we don't have access to all the content this game has. What I know for sure is that the build you make will matter a lot in player versus player fights. I hope you liked my barbarian class guide and if you feel that something's missing and you want to add, you are free to comment.
